1. “The quintessential Bahianese fishing village. Trancoso is very commercial by comparison. A couple of hours on a dirt road to get there. Friendly welcoming people. OK, this is a Bazilian characteristic, but there it is the real thing. The streets are still made of sand. People ride horses in the streets - they raise cattle in the farms around the village. The got electricity merely 3 years ago. You need to be taken across the river in a small row boat to reach the village center.Atmospheric ... given how disconnected you feel from the "modern world" when you finally get there, it is relatively easy to get to ... and good surf!”
