3. “Very cool and modern. Lounge area and pool are gorgeous and comfortable. Room was small and very basic for the price. Staff was very friendly. Housekeeping was outstanding. Loud music until 1 am...only a problem if you want to go to sleep earlier than that.”

6. “If you want to relax by day and party by night Deseo is your place. The atmosphere and clientele are 20/30 something hipsters and young professionals. The design is clean and minimalist with interesting touches such as Kiehl's toiletry products, bedside package of condoms and incense. I've read reviews that suggest the balcony rooms are quieter but I did not find that to be the case. The hotel is on the corner of Calle 5 and 12 ave which is the main party strip. All of the balcony rooms face this strip which can mean a lot of noise especially around 6 am when Santanera, the local after hours club closes. If you want a quieter experience I recommend getting a non balcony room. They are slightly smaller but probably worth the quieter experience. This is my first of many visits to Playa Del Carmen which is a truly magical place with a magical hotel in Deseo....Salud!”
