Jakes has a totally relaxed a laid back vibe that made it perfect for our honeymoon. The staff at the hotel and Jack Sprats Bar were exceptionally friendly, and made our stay very special. The food was fantatic, and rum punch a killer! We also apprecaited the personalised tours organised from Jakes - and the trip we took to the nearby blackriver on a small boat (just us and the skipper) was much more flexible than the packed tourist boats we passed on the way.

a jewel. quaint, quirky, perfect. loved that it is low-key and a local hangout. would prefer you to remove from your list so as to remain a secret hideaway. Thanks for all your help and great service!

aside from the mosquitos all was great! we were very pleased!!!

Jake's was pleasant, but some of the room amenities were lacking such as a full length mirror and clothing storage. The outdoor shower/bath although unique was not well appointed (no hooks for robes or towels, no soap dish and had poor water pressure). In comparison to other Tablet hotels we've stayed at, Jake's was a bit rustic and the facilities a bit tired.

Jakes is the best romantic relaxation theropy in the world.

I stayed in both Octopussy & Seapuss. Octopussy was wonderful, but Seapuss wasn't. The resort had upgraded me to the Octopussy cottage, but only gave me 30 minutes notice on my last day there that I had to move out to Seapuss because a honeymoon couple needed it. No big deal, other than i only had a short time to pack and it was my last day there. Unfortunately, the SeaPuss cottage had a leaky sink which needed to be replaced, and took several hours to replace. So, for most of my last afternoon, I had to just wait around. staff was very nice & comped my last night for my trouble.

Jakes was amazing and exactly as you described on the website. Cool and funky - we were always wary of Jamaica - because of the gated all inclusive clubs on the north shore - however, Jakes gave us a authentic Jamaican experienced that lets us meet people and not locked in the resort. I felt safe and welcome by all of the staff and locals around. We are looking forward to going back - mostly likely in 6 months. We were also thrilled with the value and the food.

wonderful place, hope it stays the same for a long time. what a great find.

Jake's is a well-kept secret in Jamaica and we would hate to see this changing. Although at first, we were a bit annoyed of no-directions-whatsoever-style in Jamaica, very quickly we grew to appreciate it a lot as this keeps mass tourism well away. However, a simple map with directions at Jake's website would be handy. C&R

Truely an unique, low key place...

Jake's was funky, with very few comforts for the price. Mosquitos are so bad, I would think many people would be horrified & want to leave. A very basic, yet interesting & creative place; I loved it- in spite of the mosquitos & tiny room- my partner less so. Food was very good, and a good value. The people were lovely, even left a gift basket in front of each of our rooms on Christmas morning. Not an easy place to stay, and certainly not for everyone.
