“The only dissappapintment was the room itself. Although prefectly adequate, it was nowhere near as good as the photos on the internet. Otherwise a fabulous hotel, small details and art displays added to the warmth.”

“Loved the staff. The rooms need some work. The orange carpet is tired and needs to be replaced. The housekeeping is terrible. Please pay more attention to the housekeeping. This is my only complaint and it is a big one. They knock on the door and let themselves in at the same time - not good. You tell them to come back and they return in 5 minutes - not good. They dont clean well. White tile and grout in a shower should be white. Not moldy. I booked a superior suite and I expect more than a standard room and a higher level of service.”

“I enjoyed the Hatton - my room was great (vert attractive, hard wood floors, great bed/bedding, free wireless, very spacious, nice views, nice bathroom, nice toiletries, and the location was excellent. Staff very helpful. The reception area was nice -- liked the free breakfast and newspapers. The hallway carpet was a bit weathered and should be replaced -- it doesn't live up to the rest of the hotel.”

“if you are looking for a boutique hotel in a nice neighbourhood, good connectivity and class, friendly (young) staff and rooms with fresh air, this is it! The proximity for joggers to use the track at the Botanical Gardens, to smell the fresh eucalyptus, is therapy for the soul.”

“We particularly enjoyed the communal area where we could al met for a very civilised breakfast, or an afternoon cup of tea and evening drink by the fire when we got in. having the use of the computer and even the great range of magazines to flip thru was all an added touch. We will definitely go back to the Hatton ad recommend it to friends. it had a lovely 'hatbox' old world feel to it and was so accessible to the city.”

“I thought the Experience of a Hotel relies greatly on the service of their staff. Though a small an simple hotel they truly offered personal service. They understood to give visitors simple enough directions to their hotel as we were unfamiliar with the roads in Melbourne as we had rented a car for our travel. And when we asked for directions to a museum, they also we able to provide clever in matter of fact suggestions that we should take a cab instead of driving there as it was a sunday and roads would be too busy... in fact thoughtful enough to call a taxi for us. This is personal service.”
